Not a Streaming Platform

MovieCollection doesn’t host or stream movies. It’s just management software.

Not a Ticket Shop

You can't buy or sell tickets for events or movie theaters. No commercial use.

Not Click-and-Go

It is required to setup a Server to host the App and initially manage files.

Not Automatic

Movies and metadata are managed manually to give you full control and prevent a third-party dependency.

If you rent a preconfigured Windows web hosting package from a hosting provider, it already meets all the requirements.
You can start setting it up immediately.

Based on .NET 8.0 and Windows

The application is built with the .NET 8.0 runtime and thus requires a Windows server instance to be hosted.

What is .NET?

IIS or Kestrel web server

The Windows server must be able to host a Kestrel web server instance or run Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS).

What is IIS?

MSSQL Database Server

A Microsoft SQL database server is required with read & write access. The connection is esthablished using the connection string for the respective database. The database does not need to be hosted on the same Server.
